We spent a lot of our time thinking about props, as it is the main element of our video. We wanted the props to convey the main themes of nostalgia, youth and coming-of-age within the lyrics of the song.
By the end of our second production meeting, we had a rough list of props that we felt would be visually interesting and connoted the nostalgia themes. We tried to think of toys and iconic items from the 1990's or 2000's, which expressed those time periods as they were more representative of our target audience's childhood and youth.

We then transferred the list onto our Facebook group to ensure that everyone had full access to it.

Following this we started to order the props into size (small, medium, large and finale). When we ordered these, we took into account how many of the props there are (eg there are three hula hoops as opposed to one) and how much of the frame the prop will take up (eg monopoly money seems like a small prop, but when we play with it it it'll take up the majority of the frame).
By having this, we had a basic, outlined structure for our music video, which will make creating the individual shots and storyboard a lot easier for us.
Once we decided on the props themselves, we had to look into how we were going to source them. We made note of all of the items we needed to order online, that we could not borrow from our friends or family. We made a list with prices according to Amazon.co.uk, then we made a list of the links to the websites. This was so we could order them through the school, a week in advance, so that they would arrive in time for our first shoot.
